With such a fantastic party house we had to take advantage of it. So at night we played (light up!) bocce ball in the sand in the yard.

The wedding ceremony was on Hawksnest Beach, which is the first picture in this post. It was exactly what you would expect for a beachy destination wedding. It was amazing! The bride walked down the aisle to steel drums, the sun was shining, and the waves were rolling in.
The rehearsal dinner was, as I mentioned last week, at the Westin. I loved their wedding cake. It was so different and fun. And the paper lanterns really set the mood, it was very romantic. The details were so perfect. The table settings had such an island feel. This was my first destination wedding and I was quite spoiled!
My boyfriend was one of the groomsmen for the destination wedding we went to, so the night before we went to the rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Westin Resort in Chocolate Hole, St John. The resort is on a great location right on the beach. It was in the same spot for the wedding the next night. It was quite picturesque.
I have so many pictures from the St John trip, you might be seeing those pictures for a while in the weeks to come. We were there for a week so there were quite a few opportunities to capture the beautiful island.
The bride and groom had such a fun week of activities planned for their guests, including a sunset catamaran ride. It was as you would imagine, fantastic.
In addition to the A La Mer House that the bride and groom rented, they rented a second house for the overflow of guests. This was the house my boyfriend and I stayed in along with 5 others. It was much more intimate but equally as fantastic. The deck was my favorite. The house was called Ebb Tide and was located in Chocolate Hole in St John. We were all quite comfortable there for the week and I was sad to leave.
Last week I showed you all the exterior of gorgeous A La Mer House in Great Cruz Bay in St John. This week I wanted to take you inside the mansion. And I wanted to show off the infinity pool that had a swim up bar as well. I know, right? It was so fancy and gorgeous! The decor of the house was very island-y and was perfect.
Two years ago my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be able to attend a wedding in St John in the US Virgin Islands. Talk about a destination wedding! It was really incredible. The couple who got married go to St John every year for vacation with his side of the family, so it was a really meaningful spot for them.
Here are some incredible pictures my boyfriend took of the main house where the bride, groom, and lots of their friends stayed for the week we were all down there. I won’t go into specifics about the cost of this house for the week, but let’s just say it wasn’t cheap! It is definitely the nicest vacation house I will ever step into. It was named A La Mer and was located in Great Cruz Bay.
Next week for Travel Thursday, I will continue to show you more of St John. I will show you the inside of the house, and the pool during the day!
