Music Mondays: Taylor Swift – Breathe

Taylor Swift is incredibly popular and with good reason. The lyrics of her songs are so beautiful! She is a great writer and is so talented musically. This song is heartbreaking and talks about a breakup and moving on and remembering to breathe. 

 

Music Mondays: The Oh Hello’s – Hello My Old Heart

I love a good slow song. Songs where you can hear the emotions and rawness of the singer. This song is one of those. It talks about wondering how his heart is doing and if it’s still beating. It’s so pretty!

My favorite lyric is, “I want to find a home and I want to share it with you.”

Music Mondays: California – Jamestown Revival

This song really resonates with me because of the lyrics. My favorite is the chorus when they sing,

“California
I don’t even know you
You’ve taken me away from home”

My boyfriend and I move from Chicago to LA last year for work. And we had to leave our family and friends behind and started a new life. It was a big move for us across country. A big risk but we did it!

Chicago will always be home for us. But we are currently loving California living. The weather, the beaches, the coast, Highway 1, palm trees, and the laid back attitudes. It’s hard to complain. (But there is the ever present traffic jams!)

Anyways our friend from home sent us this song and it really strikes a chord.

This week’s edition of Music Mondays is about the song Nightcall which is a cover done by London Grammar. Originally done by Kavinsky. It’s a very different, slower, version and is so beautiful.

This week’s song is Vance Joy – Rip Tide. My boyfriend introduced this song to me and it has since become a staple in our playlists. It is so catchy and fun! I love singing and dancing to this song every time it’s on. It’s contagious. Have a listen and enjoy!

I love the rawness of this song. She is so honest and sings so beautifully about being human. We are all allowed to be vulnerable and weak at times and I love the simplicity of this song. 

Music Mondays: The Neighbourhood – Sweater Weather

This song is so catchy and I just love it! I love the beat and the spunk of it. Perfect summer song. If you came to my apartment you would see me dancing around to this song haha.
