Friday Favorites Link Up – The Bachelor Edition

It’s Friday again, woo hoo! I’m linking up with the ladies of A Little Bit of Everything Blog, Grace and Love Blog, and Momfessionals.

And today through the link up I found other ladies who also host their own link up. So today for the first time I’m joining 5 of Friday with A.Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, Hello! Happiness, and The Good Life Blog.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I watch the Bachelor and the Bachelorette and I’ve read their books (Trista Sutter‘s book that I haven’t blogged about yet, Sean Lowe’s For the Right Reasons, and Courtney Robertson’s I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends).

So I love all things Bachelor. I love that Jimmy Kimmel talks about it so much, and was on the show this season. This is an old video but I love that he did the baby Bachelor with his nephew and I love that Des was a good sport and played along.

I wasn’t planning on making this a Bachelor edition of Friday Favorites, but I might as well go with it. If you are watching this season of the Bachelor with Chris, then you will know that Whitney is one of the last three girls that are left. She is by far my favorite girl on the show, and for Chris.

I think they’re a great match. She seems level headed, sincere, and honest about wanting to be with Chris and being open to move to small town Arlington, Iowa. They look great together and I hope they end up together and can make it long term (because so many couple obviously don’t make it in the real world). I don’t read the spoilers and I don’t know who he picks but I hope it’s Whit!

If you guys are watching this season, who do you like? Kaitylnn, Becca, or Whitney? Also who would you like to be the Bachelorette? I think Kaitlynn would be really fun. She’s great but I don’t see her with Chris. And Becca is so sweet but I feel like she’s a little young and innocent for Chris.

Friday Favorites Link Up Randoms

Happy Friday friends! Today I’m linking up with the ladies over at A Little Bit Of Everything Blog, Grace and Love Blog. and Momfessionals, for Friday Favorites. Today I have some randomness to share with you all.

Are you all getting pumped for the Super Bowl this weekend?! I need to start looking up some fun game day snacks. What are you all making?

Here are my favorite things at the moment:

A few months ago Shay from Mix and Match Family did a post on cross body bags and lately I’ve been on the hunt for a good one. I’ve found two I’ve got my eye on.

This one from Target and is $20 and comes in blue, red, brown, and black and white stripes.

And this one from Forever 21 (yes I still shop there occasionally and I am no longer 21), and is $22.90 and also comes in brown.

Women’s Health Training Guide 2015. With the new year we could all use a little motivation to work out and this is what I’m currently reading, along with all the other cooking magazines I bought recently. I’m in love with this pink and striped scarf from Target, and it’s only $9.99. I need to buy this immediately! But of course it’s currently out of stock online and not sold in stores!

A few months ago I read Jessica Alba’s book, entitled The Honest Life. She talks about being green, going organic, and using products that are safe with nontoxic ingredients.

She started her own company, The Honest Co. that offers a ton of products from diapers, sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, lip balm, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. I’m currently using and loving the shampoo + body wash combo, conditioner, toothpaste, and organic healing balm.

And if you’re unsure about going all in and buying full products, I’d suggest buying the discovery set, which is travel size samples of 5 products and it’s $13.95. That’s what I did and now I’m a big fan!

Friday Favorites: My Fall Line Up

 

It is Friday so you know what that means, Friday Favorites with some of my favorite blogger ladies from Texas! Be sure to check out and link up with A Little Bit of Everything Blog, Grace and Love Blog, and Momfessionals!

With it being October it is officially Fall people! Living in Southern California, you could have fooled me that the seasons have changed, because there is only one season here and it’s sunshine. Yes it’s nice, but it also means lots of sunscreen, sunglass tans, no changing leaves, no snow days, and no rainy days for my cute Hunter rain boots. I know, I know, first world problems, and California problems.

But trust me I know all about weather. I’m originally from Chicago, where it was literally negative 40 degrees last winter with the wind chill. It was one of the coldest winters in the history of Chicago. Here is the proof! A picture I took while watching the news.

 

Anyway back to the task at hand, my new favorite Fall shows.

A to Z  is a new romantic comedy show on NBC that is my absolute favorite! It is so cute and so fun. I love How I Met Your Mother, and the main character from this show is the mother from HIMYM, Cristin Milioti. She is so charming and lovable. And the guy is Ben Feldman who is most known for being on Mad Men. He is also on The Mindy Project, my other favorite show 🙂

Fun fact the work place from this show is filmed in Santa Monica at the Water Gardens which is about a mile from where I used to live in Santa Monica. It’s so cool to see it on tv!

This show is about the relationship of these two characters Andrew and Zelda (Hence the title A to Z) and it’s really fun to go along for the ride. It’s narrated by Katey Sagal (the mom on Married with Children, or more recently Sons of Anarchy). The show reminds me of 500 Days of Summer with its aura of romance and where the guy believes in love, fate, and destiny and the girl character is more cynical and realistic. I’m really excited about this show and already got two of my roommates hooked on it as well. So start watching!

I’m a sucker for romantic comedies. This show is fun because you can hear the character’s thoughts as they are thinking them. It’s a show about being young and dating in Manhattan. It stars Analeigh Tipton and Jake McDorman who are fresh faces and I think it will be a light, fun show to watch each week.

John Mulaney is a comedian who is most well known for being a writer on SNL for 5 years. He has a great stand up special that is on Netflix called New in Town which I would highly recommend. The show is very similar and reminiscent of Seinfeld. And if you are familiar with this stand up he does use a few of his jokes in the show. The show is loosely based on his life of being a stand up comedian and the people in his life. But I think he’s really talented and funny and am hoping that the show gets better. The pilot episode was kind of just mediocre for me. But I have faith in John Mulaney that the show will get better!

Friday Favorites: City Love

Hello there Friday! How are you all doing? Are you as ready for the weekend as I am?

Today I’m showing some of my favorite city posters. Chicago is my hometown and will always be home for me. It makes me very nostalgic and sentimental every time I think about it. When my boyfriend I first moved to LA, my best friend bought us a Chicago poster with the famous landmarks and buildings.

New York is such a a large city and is so iconic. It’s in so many movies and tv shows. Having visited NYC for the first time last year, it really did live up to and exceed my expectations. It’s got a real energy there and is so fast paced.

San Fran’s Golden Gate Bridge is another famous landmark that I love. San Fran is such a great city and is so unique. The steep hills, Alcatraz, the hikes, the weather, etc. It’s all so great.

Friday Favorites Link Up!

It’s Friday again, so that means Friday Favorites link up with the awesome ladies at Momfessionals, A Little Big of Everything Blog, and Grace and Love Blog.

I posted this inspirational quote on our Instagram page and I just love it! Life is all about taking chances, making memories, being brave, being happy and fulfilled, and going on new adventures! This is by far one of my favorite quotes! 

 

A few years ago my cousin got me the Q & A 5 year journal for Christmas. I’ve been journaling for years, since high school and still continue to do so. Although it can be hard on some days to find the time. So this is the perfect solution. Each day of the year includes prompts and you respond on 4 lines. Some of the prompts are :

• If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
• Who is your best friend?
• What would your parents say about you?
• What do you want to say when someone asks you, “What do you do?”

My favorite part of this journal is that you can keep a journal for 5 years in this small little book and it’s so fun to look back and see how your answers change to the same questions. It’s a fun little time capsule keepsake.
