The last part of Monarchy series is a short 5 minute video summary of William and Kate’s April 29, 2011 Royal Wedding. It showed people on the streets cheering, the arrivals at the church, and the famous balcony kisses. My favorite part of the wedding was that it felt intimate even though it was such a huge international spectacle, with an estimated 2 billion around the world watching.
It’s a fun look back at the beautiful day and all the hype and excitement that surrounded it.
Pippa Middleton burst onto the scene as she stepped out of the car on April 29, 2011. She was the maid of honor for her sister Kate Middleton. The media and the public was instantly interested in her. Her good looks, her style, her fit body, everything. People wanted to know all about her. She became an instant international style icon.
She comes from an incredibly close, happy family. Her and Kate were close an age and did many of the same activities. Pippa was the more outgoing sister as Kate was more shy.
It is amazing how well behaved the Middleton children have been their entire lives. In this day and age of the internet and high scrutiny that the media hasn’t been able to dig up any dirt on them, is quite impressive. The only thing they have been able to find is one or two pictures of Pippa and James scantily clad dancing.
While in college Pippa mixed and mingled with the upper crust students who came from money and castles. Carol Middleton, her mother, didn’t come from money but through hard work and ambition started a company that is now worth millions.
At the time of this special, Pippa had not spoken to the public. People had never heard her talk. And that was probably part of the allure and mystery that was intentional. Yet people were still so taken by her.
After college Pippa moved to London and became one of the most sought after invitees to all high society parties. She is a fun loving girl and is known to be the life of the party. She went to work at her parent’s company Party Pieces.
The day of the wedding people were looking at Pippa as much as they were looking at Kate. She immediately got offers from all over the world, companies wanting her to be the face of her brand. She now has the world at her feet and the opportunities are endless.
I am under her spell along with the rest of the world. I have done a style post on her, I’ve read her book, Celebrate. I can’t get enough of her. I’m very looking forward to seeing what she does next, especially who she will marry.
I’m so used to watching older documentaries, so this one was refreshing and recent, since it came out in 2012. It went over the itinerary of the couple 9 day tour of 4 different countries (including Malaysia, Singapore, Tuvalu, and the Solomon Islands).
In Singapore William and Kate saw an orchid that was named after Princess Diana, who passed away just two weeks before she was due to visit.
The hostess of the doc follows the couple as they go from each event. She talks to people in the audience as well as people who met them.
In Malaysia they visited a hospice and it’s clear to see the special connection they both have with children. Kate is a patron of a children’s hospice in the UK. Each event they go to they bring with them lots of publicity and are able to highlight issues that are close to them, such as conservation and hospice.
Sadly during this tour it came out that a French tabloid was publishing photos of Kate sunbathing topless during a vacation. It is a terrible violation of privacy and the House of Windsor was not amused. Throughout the ordeal Kate remained calm and kept her composure. The UK after all is known for the expression, “Keep Calm and Carry On.”
My favorite part of the doc was when William and Kate were in Tuvalu dancing. They are such a sweet couple and are so down to earth. I love that they participate in all sorts of activities. They are definitely a modern couple for the British monarchy. I can’t get enough of them together. Long live the (future) King!!
This documentary focuses on the time when Kate was pregnant with the third in line, her baby Prince George up until the birth announcement outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital. It documents the excitement the media felt, as well as some Hollywood celebs.
William and Kate have really taken the world by storm. They are so popular and have everyone enamored. They are huge celebrities yet are such sweet and warm people. They evoke such enthusiasm everywhere they go.
Her pregnancy fashion choices have been making headlines, just as much as before she was pregnant. It’s fun to see how Kate and William are doing things their way and not always following royal protocol like in the past. It will be exciting to see Prince George grow up in front of our eyes. I also enjoyed that this documentary was up to date and not outdated like others that I have watched.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan on the royal family (and all things British, hello British accents!). So of course I had to read Celebrate by Pippa Middleton. She is the infamously gorgeous sister of Kate Middleton. The book is a party planning guide for all 4 seasons. And while some critics have been a little harsh in their reviews, saying that the tips are too simplistic, Pippa says that she wanted it to stand the test of time and for it to easy for everyone to follow and do.
“Celebrate, my book on entertaining, has been a labour of love. I have put my heart and soul into it, obsessing over every detail. I could have written a book that showcased the most extravagant or elaborate of occasions – after all, I spent three years working for an events company planning parties – but I wanted to produce something that was achievable; something that people would have on their shelves for years; something that was not too fussy – just simple and comforting”
The pictures in the book are fantastic! (These are a few of the photos from the book) I loved seeing Pippa in different settings and to see her different outfits. She is truly stunning. The book offers recipes, games, craft ideas, decorations and lots of pictures. It’s a fun read and makes me want to perfect my party planning skills.

In honor of the future heir who is due in mid July, I thought I’d look back at some of my favorite looks of Kate during her much anticipated pregnancy. She is glowing and so gorgeous! Her impeccable style has transferred to her pregnancy looks. She wears fun patterns, great coats, and looks amazing. She is so graceful and is handling being under the microscope so wonderfully.
Every time I hear that Kate is going to have a public appearance I get very excited and filled with anticipation. And she always lives up to or exceeds expectations. Girl knows how to dress! These outfits are from the Diamond Jubilee Tour in the East that Kate embarked on with Prince William last month.
Today Kate Middleton accompanied Prince William in London to a dinner hosted by The Thirty Club at Claridges. She looked stunning in a white Roland Mouret dress with a thigh high slit. In my eyes she can do no wrong. She always looks fantastic and is always exquisitely dressed.
April 29th marks the one year wedding anniversary of the wedding of the century of William and Kate. I am totally enamored with this beautiful couple and am so happy for them. They represent a new modern era for the UK. I love their style and their warmth and genuineness towards each other and towards the public.
Kate has stepped up to the plate in terms of her fashion choices as well as being able to hold her own against her prince of a husband. I am always so excited to see what she is wearing at her events and she never disappoints.
Kate has done immensely well under the pressure of the media. They make the perfect couple and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the future King and Queen of England.
