As much as I’ve loved this short work week, I’ve fallen behind a little with reading my favorite blogs this week. Hopefully next week I’ll get back on track!
Next week is officially my last week of work in sunny California. Dave and I are taking some much needed time off to get through our California Bucket List and we have some exciting travels coming up.
We’re going to Seattle to find our new place, Chicago to say goodbye to my childhood home (my parents recently sold it), a wedding in North Carolina (our first time to the Carolinas), and a camping and road trip to Zion National Park to hike the Narrows again.
And I’m excited because some of my favorite bloggers are going to take over for the week that I will be gone the week of Sept 21st – 25th. Thanks in advance girls!
Here are some of my favorite links from this week:
I need to work on a few of these things but I think this is a great list and a place to start.
There is a new trend popping up in a few cities (Seattle, San Fran, Ashville, Boston, Madison) where there will be parks full of free fruit for the taking. I love this idea and hope it catches on all over!
Have you guys seen this video with this adorable elderly couple at the airport? They are so sweet and I just love this.
I love Amy Schumer and I’m also a fan of Hilary Clinton. She was born in Chicago and she’s done so much for our country in so many capacities. I’m not going to get political but she’s got an impressive resume and you can’t deny that. This picture makes me smile. They were on Ellen together recently, how fun!
Yesterday I saw that my friend Kathleen posted on her Facebook an article she and her boyfriend did with Tiny House Talk . It’s been one year since they traded city living with a 140 foot camper in Colorado. They were my first interview on my series and I’m so proud of them! 🙂
What fun things are you guys up to this weekend? See you all on Monday back here friends.
As always I’m linking up with these lovlies:

I love the video of the older married couple. It just goes to show love exist all over at any age. So sweet!
Yes I totally agree, they are so adorable together!! Happy Friday Steph!
I love a good list so adding that first article to my reading list! That video of the elderly couple is just too much…my heart is full! My husband and I constantly talk about selling our house for tiny living but I’m scared it’s just something we talk about and not actually consider…it’s such a great idea though!

You should read that interview I did with my friend or check out her blog tinyhousetinyfootprint.com! It’s so interesting and inspirational! It’s definitely a commitment though.
That married couple video kills me….so cute! I love Amy and Hillary (sorry, parents) so I love them together! Also, I live in North Carolina!!! Where in NC will you be!?
We are going to a wedding on Bald Head Island and visiting some friends in Chapel Hill, where are you again??
I’m in Charlotte!!
I’ve heard Charlotte is awesome, I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in town! Any suggestions for me in chapel hill?!
I’ve actually never been! But I’ve heard great things! Have fun!!
Can’t wait to read about all your travels coming up! My grandpa is currently wanting to sale his place and move into a camper and travel. And he only has one place in mind, Montana. No idea why! I love the idea of it, but not sure I’d be able to actually do something like that!
Ahh that’s so exciting for your grandpa! Montana is beautiful, I think your gpa is on to something 🙂
You definitely have to commit to that lifestyle, but it’s awesome to think of all freedom that comes with it financially and physically!
I tried looking at that video but it wouldn’t pull up on my computer. Ugh! Can’t wait for your guest blogger week! Have a great weekend friend 🙂
Yay for you as one of my guest bloggers Molly 😉 Have fun w gpa this weekend!
My parents are selling my childhood home right now and it’s so strange! Hope you have good trips – looking forward to hearing about them after! And that video is so cute 🙂
Luckily I’ve had time to come to terms with parting with the house, but it’s still sad! I can’t imagine someone else living there, and me not being able to go into the house next time I’m home.
I’m so excited for my trips, can’t wait to share them too 🙂
have a good weekend Alexandra!!
I love the park fruit gardens! It’s so fun 🙂
it’s such a cute/good idea! I’m so excited to check out the one in Seattle!
That picture of Amy and Hillary makes me so happy! Yay for your last week of work!
I gotta watch that ep of Ellen they were on together! Looks like they had fun.
And yes counting down the days! Thanks!
I love the idea of that park with free fruit for the taking! How cool! We used to live in the countryside, and wild apple trees and wild black raspberry bushes thrived in the woods behind our house–apple season and black raspberry season were so much fun!
That sounds so wonderful! I hope to start a garden and/or plant some fruit trees when I move to Seattle.
Great list!! Have a blast in Zion, wish I could’ve hiked the Narrows, definitely need to do that next time. Have a lovely weekend 🙂
Thanks so much for visiting and commenting today Eden! I’ve done the narrows once before and want to try to do Angel’s landing some day but I’m afraid of heights so that might not happen 🙂
Have a good weekend!!
That’s awesome that you get to travel to all of those places! I would like to go to the Carolinas some time too. I saw that video of the couple on the morning news the other day- so cute! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Megan! I’m so ready for some traveling and to leave the office for a little bit 🙂
That couple is the sweetest!
Have a good weekend, gonna email you back right now!
The first link is the best. I think if I were to do that I’d have a much better start in the day.
I’ve been struggling with keeping up with my blogs too! And even responding to comments.

Yes I love how simple those things are, but have such an impact! Especially the dressing up one.
So behind on blog reading too! And commenting! Ah! I love your traveling soul and can’t wait to hear what you think of the Carolinas! I want to get down there sometime soon 🙂
Aw thanks girl. I’ve always loved traveling but lately i’ve been wanting to more so than usual!
I’ve heard so many great things about the Carolinas I’m so exited to see it!!
